Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Billix platform ("Billix," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the platform.

2. Overview of Services

Billix allows users to upload bills, receive or provide assistance through a bill-swapping feature, earn platform credits, and participate in promotional rewards. Billix does not process payments between users or act as a financial intermediary. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform, including features, pricing, functionalities, or available services, at any time and for any reason.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

• To use certain features of our services, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
• By registering, you agree that your account is for individual use only and that you will not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found to be in violation of these terms.

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

3.3 Account Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our services. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
• If you are registering on behalf of an organization or business, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. However, Billix is currently intended for personal use only, and we reserve the right to reject or remove business accounts.

4. Bill Swapping

Billix offers a voluntary feature ("Bill Swapping") that allows users to contribute funds toward another user's eligible bill in exchange for platform benefits, visibility boosts, or other rewards. All contributions are facilitated through user-to-user coordination and supported by optional platform tools.

Key Disclosures:

• No Money Transmission: Billix does not allow direct money transfers between users through the platform. All financial coordination occurs directly between users outside of the app.
• No Repayment Obligations: Bill Swapping is not a loan or credit service. Users who contribute toward another user's bill do so voluntarily, with no guarantee or right of repayment.
• Platform Mediation (Limited): While Billix does not transmit or escrow funds, we may, at our sole discretion, offer support in reviewing disputes or issues when possible. However, we do not guarantee outcomes, act as a mediator, or offer binding resolution services. All final agreements remain user-managed.

Billix reserves the right to reject, cancel, or reverse any transaction that violates platform guidelines or applicable laws.

5. Proof of Payment Submission

Billix allows users to upload optional documentation (such as screenshots, receipts, or confirmations) to indicate that a bill has been paid or assistance has been provided. This submission is used solely for platform coordination and status updates within the app.

• Billix does not verify, authenticate, or guarantee the accuracy or validity of any uploaded proof.
• The act of submitting or confirming payment is entirely user-managed and serves only to progress the interaction between users.
• Any reliance on uploaded proof is at the sole discretion and risk of the users involved.

By using the Bill Swapping feature, you acknowledge that Billix is not a financial service provider, broker, or payment intermediary, and that all bill-related actions are managed between individual users.

6. User-Uploaded Data

By uploading bills, documents, or related information ("Bill Data") to the Billix platform, you grant Billix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, copy, anonymize, aggregate, analyze, and distribute such data for the purpose of:

• Operating and improving the platform
• Generating market insights
• Developing new features and financial products
• Creating anonymized and aggregated datasets for sale or licensing to third parties

Billix will never sell personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or account credentials without your explicit consent. All data used for commercial or analytical purposes will be de-identified and aggregated to ensure your privacy is maintained.

You may withdraw your permission to use your data for commercial purposes at any time by contacting info@billixapp.com, though this may impact your continued use of certain features.

7. Billix Credits

7.1 Definition

Billix Credits ("Credits") are non-monetary, non-transferable digital rewards issued by Billix for use exclusively within the Billix platform.

7.2 Use of Credits

Credits can be applied toward certain eligible platform features, including:

• Enhanced visibility for uploaded bills
• Access to priority matching or add-on services
• Partial or full payments made by Billix to the service providers listed in a user's uploaded bill

Billix will directly remit funds to the billing company listed in the user's uploaded documentation. At no point will users receive cash, equivalents, or transferable monetary value from Credits.

7.3 Limitations

• Credits cannot be exchanged for cash or redeemed outside of the Billix platform.
• Billix retains sole discretion over which bill providers are eligible for Credit application.
• Credits do not represent a deposit or stored value.

7.4 Expiration and Adjustment

Credits may expire after a period of inactivity or account closure. Billix may adjust Credit balances in cases of fraud or misuse.

8. Add-On Services

Billix offers optional add-on services to enhance the user experience. These may include:

• Bill Insurance: Provides limited emergency coverage in the event a bill contributor fails to follow through.
• Priority Matching: Speeds up the matching process between users seeking or offering bill assistance.
• Public Posting: Allows users to publicly list their bill for increased visibility and quicker matches.

These services are subject to additional terms, availability, and pricing, which may change at any time at Billix's discretion.

9. Promotional Rewards & Wheel Spins

Billix may offer promotional incentives, including access to a virtual "Billix Wheel" or other reward-based features, when users participate in eligible platform activities such as purchasing a public bill.

• Access is earned through voluntary actions
• Rewards are randomized and not guaranteed
• Prizes may include non-cash perks such as boosts or Credits
• Rewards have no cash value and are non-transferable
• Billix may change or discontinue the rewards at any time

This system is a promotional feature and not a game of chance or gambling product.

10. User Communication & Chat

Billix includes a messaging feature for user-to-user communication. By using it, you agree:

• You are solely responsible for your messages
• You will not engage in harassment, fraud, or unlawful conduct
• Billix may monitor, moderate, or record chats for safety and compliance
• You have no expectation of private communication on the platform

11. Referral Program

Billix may offer a referral program allowing users to earn rewards by inviting new users. Participation requires compliance with the following:

• Referrals must be new users
• No self-referrals or abuse of the system
• Billix may revoke rewards for suspicious behavior
• Referral rewards are promotional and have no cash value unless stated

12. Third-Party Services

Billix uses third-party services such as Stripe, Twilio, and analytics tools to operate certain features. By using the platform, you agree to their terms as applicable. Billix is not liable for any issues arising from third-party services.

13. Termination of Account

Billix reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violating these Terms or posing a risk to the platform or its users.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Billix is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including financial losses, defaults, or missed payments.

15. Privacy

Use of the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using Billix, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

16. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Impersonate others
• Share fraudulent or obscene content
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform

17. Intellectual Property

Billix and its content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use or copy Billix material without written permission.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

Billix is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Wayne County, Michigan.

20. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated, and continued use of the platform implies acceptance. Billix also reserves the right to update, modify, or remove any features, pricing, or services provided through the platform at its sole discretion.

21. Survival of Terms

Provisions such as Limitations of Liability, User-Uploaded Data, Credit Usage, Intellectual Property, and Dispute Terms will survive account termination.
